Before you plan to buy any sofa you need to note down the dimensions of the area where you are planning to designate it and then accordingly buy one piece that can efficiently utilize that space. The width, length, and height should be measured carefully. Corner sofas usually come in two or three pieces so getting them in through the door won`t be an issue. But, if you plan to buy a sofa that can`t be dismantled, then you need to ensure that the piece easily gets in through the doors of that room. If you try to get it forcefully in then, the fabric or material of it can be prone to get affected.
After acknowledging the right size of the sofa, you need to have a frame check. The frame of that sofa should be sturdy and strong. The frames are generally made of either wood, metal or plastic. If it is made up of wood, then ensure that it is made up of solid wood. The sofa should not wobble on the corners. You also need to check how the edges of the frame are held together. They should not be glued but attached with the help of screws and bolts. This will make the joints stronger and more reliable.
Pull Out Sofa Cum Beds : These are probably most demanded pieces as they can play a role of comforting sofa sets and at night they can be pulled out and converted into bed. Their designs and style of crafting have changed a lot since the time it was evolved. They are the most space saver designs. Loveseats And Divans: Loveseat is a two-seater sofa. This piece is particularly designed for couples. They can either be complimented with your living room furnishing or can be made a part of your bedroom furniture. They come in different designs like cabriole, camel back, etc. A Divan is a sofa without the back. It can be kept adjacent to the wall and then it can be accessorized with a set of pillows to provide you more comfort and make it look appealing.
For configurations, will a simple 2 or 3 seater work in your space or can it take a larger corner or chaise lounge? Do you move house regularly? Chaise lounges are a great solution for many modern apartments, but if you move around a lot, the chaise is fixed on that side, so it may not work in your next home, a 3 seater & an ottoman would be a better choice. It`s best to decide before hitting the shops and being swayed by what`s on display. In most cases, every sofa design is available in a range of various sizes and configurations to suit your needs.
A sofa with chunkier or heavier overall proportions will appear larger in the room, whilst a sofa that is raised from the floor and has slim arms and seat proportions will appear lighter and visually consume less space. Use this to your advantage, look for heavier styles if you are looking to fill a large room and vice versa, and be aware of the impact the showroom has on the look of the sofa, in general showrooms will be very open and have high ceilings, making all sofas look smaller than they are.
Now stand the sofa up on its side and wrap across in at least three sections: right over the armrests, and in the middle. For very long sofas make two midsection bands to catch the edges of the side blankets. Fold the excess of the moving blankets over the bottom. (There is no need to cover the whole bottom, unless you want to, but it is important to cover the corners.) Remove the legs, if removable. If legs cannot be removed - wrap and tape the moving blanket around the legs of the sofa-bed. Flip the sofa and do the same for the other side.
